The North Face Commander Jacket Takes Command on the Snowshoe Trails

For years now, The North Face Denali Jacket has been a popular choice among outdoor enthusiasts and people who want to own a warm fleece jacket to wear when the temperatures drop.  It seems to be a rite of passage to have the Denali available at a moment’s notice. It’s a must-have for any snowshoer’s gear arsenal. At one time, I owned a black Denali jacket that was later ruined from too many campfire mishaps and overuse on the trails.  However, The North Face Commander Jacket is now the new gold standard; it easily eclipses the Denali and its combination of classic fleece and abrasion-resistant fabric. It’s a sure winner for my campfire outings and snowshoe hikes – a four-season jacket that will certainly get some use.

While I believe The North Face is more of an iconic brand steeped in fashion, it’s gear is precisely made for use on the snowy trails; the advantages for the snowshoer is second to none.  And if you own a Denali jacket, it’s best to graduate to the Commander and take your love for the outdoors to the next level.  It’s a comfortable, relaxed jacket that works as an everyday, everywhere garment. It’s also a primary softshell that performs best in cold weather – just above the extreme freezing levels.

Available in four colors – Ivy Green, TNF Black, Deep Water Blue and Asphalt Grey – it has a two-tone design to (on select colors) to aptly provide the fashion that many people enjoy with The North Face. The Commander offers a textured honeycomb fleece with durable Polartec Thermal Pro fabric that’s breathable, warm and comfortable to wear.

The Polartec Thermal Pro high insulates and features light moisture resistance, but its standard fit is perfect for easy layering as the weather changes. Even better, the Commander is “zip-in” compatible with select The North Face jackets. Snowshoers can bring their favorite The North Face hardshell jacket to couple with the Commander in case the cold gets unbearably cold.

Additional features:
