Gear Review: Nobis Ella Jacket

Ella-5The new Nobis Spring/Summer 2014 collection is another homerun. Despite having only a few styles, they’re the right ones to get you through the warmer seasons in style.

I tried the Nobis Ella and absolutely loved it. It’s the perfect combination of comfort, femininity and functionality.

Made of 100 percent nylon, the Ella is supremely lightweight. It acts as a second skin overtop any outfit, effectively blocking heavy winds and light rain. The thin material also lends a hand to being a perfect addition to any suitcase ensemble.

The Ella overcoat extends down to mid-thigh overcoat with cinching at the base and around the waist. This allows for the added length seldom found in similar outdoor summer gear, while maintaining a flattering and fitted shape.

ellaThe Ella also boasts the standard technical features found in other Nobis outdoor gear. There are a whopping seven pockets in this unassuming piece. Adjustable drawstrings are featured throughout for ultimate customizability. Finally a hood and underarm vents make this an all-weather item.

Nobis chose to make this piece in mostly pastel options (as well as standard black) to fit with airy summer trends.  I have the pastel purple and am really pleased. It’s unlike anything else in my closet and earns compliments each time I take it out.

Wear the Ella to the beach or down a windy city block, its versatility suits all environments and works as a perfect in-between-season piece. Check it out at http://nobis.ca/S14/Ella.html.
