Tubbs Snowshoes Adventure Center Set to Open This Winter

Close your eyes and imagine this for a moment. The air is crisp and fresh, snow is lightly falling, the moon is shining bright above you and the only sounds are the crunch of the snow from your snowshoes and the whisper of the wind.

After a magical guided trek through the Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historic Park in Woodstock, Vermont, you arrive at a cozy cabin where a four-course chef’s dinner is waiting for you. After dinner you follow your expert guide back to the AAA Four Diamond Resort and bask in the glow of a wood burning fireplace. Let us welcome you to the perfect partnership between Tubbs Snowshoes and Woodstock Inn & Resort.

Woodstock Inn Winter SportsTubbs Snowshoes and Woodstock Inn & Resort have joined together to introduce the first-ever Tubbs Snowshoe Adventure Center, opening in winter 2014.

What is a snowshoe adventure center you may ask? I sat down with Marketing Manager Kelsey Boyce from Tubbs Snowshoes and Woodstock Inn’s Director of Sales and Marketing Courtney Lowe to get all the answers. But first…a little history lesson is in order:

In the early 1900s Tubbs Snowshoes started its success in Maine, Vermont. Recognized as the sport’s pioneer, Tubbs produces lightweight versatile snowshoes and crampons used throughout the world. Tubbs headquarters remained in Vermont until 2003, when they relocated to Seattle, Washington. With headquarters now on the other side of the country, I was curious as to how they decided to join with Woodstock Inn & Resort.

“The landmark Woodstock Inn & Resort was the perfect fit for a partnership due to our shared history in Vermont, the proximity to major metropolitan areas, and their excitement for leading guests on outdoor winter adventures,” said Boyce.

“Tubbs is a first-class winter adventure company that is the perfect fit for our guests. Originally, it was a Vermont company, and I think that their dedication to returning to their roots with a home base is very special to all of us. Tubbs is an adventure seeker and so are we…and I think we will only grow this partnership into greater fun for everyone.” said Lowe.

Woodstock Inn Winter SportsTubbs Adventure Center is a unique Nordic facility that offers a number of different services and products. Snowshoes will be available for rent and for sale, as well as poles and other gear. Private and semi-private lessons will be offered on a daily basis. Tubbs will offer activities such as family scavenger hunts, team-building exercises and expert-led tours.

Even better, 30kms of trails are available right from the doorstep and the Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historic Park is located a stone’s throw away. Certified Tubbs Snowshoes instructors will be there to assist with snowshoe purchasing, fitting, lessons and expert-led tours. Tubbs Adventure Center also offers the opportunity for day passes for guests that are not staying at the Inn.

Woodstock Inn & Resort has done a fabulous job in designing winter adventure packages that are built around Tubbs Adventure Center. Choose from a romantic getaway with dinner in the two award-winning restaurants, breakfast in bed and moonlight-guided snowshoe trek to a cozy cabin dinner or indulge in a snowshoe/spa package where tranquility is the goal. The choice is yours.WoodstockInnWinter Exterior high res

Rated by Travel & Leisure Magazine as one of the best 500 hotels in the world, Woodstock Inn & Resort offers award-winning restaurants, a luxury spa, world-class accommodations and an excitement for outdoor winter adventures. Seemingly the perfect fit for this joint venture, and as Lowe puts it, “considering the terrain and views that our village can provide, along with our expert guides, the accommodations, and the high-quality equipment from Tubbs Snowshoes, the experience of the guest will exceed expectations, and that will keep us expanding on the Adventure Center”.
